GENESEE TOWNSHIP— The Genesee Township Board of Trustees has called for a special meeting, May 11th 2023 at 6pm.
The purpose of the meeting will be to pick a new trustee due to the death of Richard Burrus.
Nine Genesee Township residents have submitted the necessary paperwork to become township trustee after the death in office.
The following candidates are:
Michael Becker
Michael Link
Tracy Cudd
Noel Walton
Allen Ogle
Jeff Nickerbocker
Corey Sayer
Brenda Duplanty
Allen Jones

Cudd is the current Deputy Clerk under Wayne Bates and is his daughter in law. She is the only one that has experience within the township.

For a candidate to be appointed, they shall receive four votes. If the board fails to appoint, a special election must be called.
In 2024, all four trustee seats will be open and anyone can run. In addition to the four openings, the Office of Supervisor, Clerk and Treasurer will be up for grabs.
