The Republican members of the Michigan House has approved legislation for voting regulation measures. The legislation puts in measures for Voter ID requirements and prohibiting the mailing of absentee ballots. The bill introduced, Senate Bill 303, will require absentee ballot recipients to provide social security numbers or driver license numbers. The bill, in addition, will put bar private money for election campaigns. In addition to that measure, the bill will also prohibit from sending out unwarranted absentee ballot applications.
Lawmakers anticipate that Whitmer will veto the legislative measure.
