67-year-old Gleason was taken into custody without incident from his office on the second floor of the Genesee County office building. He was then immediately booked into the Genesee County Jail.
Gleason is charged with witness bribing/intimidating/interfering and willful neglect of duty. If convicted, he faces will face up to four years in prison and a $1,000 fine.
The charges against Gleason were filed by Tuscola County Prosecutor Mark Reene, who received Gleason’s case from the Michigan Attorney General’s Office and was tasked with determining whether criminal charges should be filed or not.
