BURTON- Residents that live on Rinn Street in the City of Burton are warning fellow neighbors of a man going door to door in an attempt to possibly break-in to homes.
Rinn street is between Belsay and Vassar roads in the City of Burton.
Residents believe that the man is trying to case homes, considering what has been happening in their neighborhood.
‘Case’ or ‘casing’ is a term used when a suspect acts like they need something to get up close to a home, ‘to scope it out’ for a potential break-in attempt.
Residents on Rinn street are reporting a man going up to their doors and acting like he needs a phone charger.
The full description of the man is still unknown, but residents say he was wearing all dark clothes and is targeting homes around 2am.
The suspect was on a bike.
Residents want the community to call 9-1-1 if someone is knocking at their door in the middle of the night before they even attempt to open it.
The Genesee County Neighborhood Watch says they are increasing patrols in the area and encourage neighbors to keep their porch lights on.
