FENTON- Pamela Dickie has resigned from the Fenton School Board.
Dickie was the Board Treasurer at the time of her resignation.
Due to the resignation, the current Board is tasked with appointing someone to fill the vacancy.
Those interested in applying have until June 16, 2023 at 4pm.
Letters of interest and resume must be submitted to Emily Rossmaessler, Board President c/o Stefanie Simons, to Fenton Area Public Schools Administration Building 3100 Owen Rd, Fenton MI 48430.
You must be a resident of the Fenton School District and at least 18 years of age.
The appointment is valid until December 31st, 2024.
Whoever is appointed must run in the 2024 election to retain the position.
The current board will make appointment and the community will vote in 2024 for who holds the seat from there.
It is unknown as to why Dickie resigned.
Former candidate Rachelle Edmunds, who lost by 57 votes last year, released a public statement that she is going to seek the appointment.

The final list of applicants will be released Friday June 16th or Monday the latest.
The board’s next meeting is scheduled for June 26th at 5:45pm. The June 26th meeting is scheduled for budget purposes so it is unknown if the appointment will be made then.
