Chairman of the Genesee County Republican Party
GENESEE COUNTY, MI- Filing deadline season for our elections is right around the corner and the Genesee County Republican Party is not playing any games.
Genesee County Republican Party Chairman Matt Smith said both he and his team are focused on making sure the 2022 ballot reflects the values of the community.
“The public deserves true American Patriots up and down the ticket this year. We are done with the status quo”, Smith said.
Smith, 22, an elected official himself on his local school board says it all starts at the local level.
“All politics is local. The people I talk to are very excited about the Patriots coming forward to hold these key positions in our government”, Smith said.
Smith said in addition to the state, county and school board seats, there are many partial terms that go overlooked in many township municipalities.
“Most people don’t know that when a township official resigns, and someone is appointed, a special election must occur in August making that four year seat open again”, Smith said.
Smith says the interest of recruitment spiked when the GOP hosted a “Unmask our Kids” rally with 500 people.
“When you go out to the public, tell the truth, expose corruption, and make your voice heard: people stand with you”, Smith said.
Smith says since taking office as chair, the Genesee County Democratic Party has never been so eager to raise money and run hit pieces; alluding to the Democrat’s failed attempt to recall Smith.
“They’ve (Democrats) spent thousands of dollars on attacking me and the relaunch of the GOP efforts. Now we can see why the Genesee County Democrat Party is trying to take me and our movement down. They are crumbling because God is exposing them for who they are”, Smith said.
As for the recruitment, Smith gives all the credit to his wonderful board and group of volunteers.
“We have the best of the best working with us. All the credit goes to our team who wakes up every morning asking what they can do to better Genesee County”, Smith said.

What kind of bafoon thinks that recruiting people to run in primaries against Republican incumbents “scares” the Democrats. Matt Smith is the Number One asset of the Democratic Party in Genesee County.
