FLINT, Mich., December 6, 2022 –Flint Bishop is kicking off the holiday season with the second annual Tree Lighting
Ceremony! The ceremony, to be held tomorrow evening (12/7/22 at 6:00p.m.), will bring together members from various
organizations throughout the community for this new airport tradition. Last year marked the 1st annual Tree Lighting
Ceremony at FNT.
“The event was so well received by the community last year, so we wanted to make this a tradition for our traveling public
and all who live in the region,” said Nino Sapone, CEO of Flint Bishop International Airport. “We want to celebrate people
coming ‘Home for the Holidays’ in a way that truly embodies a sense of community.”
The Tree Lighting Ceremony will be followed by hot chocolate and the Symphony Chorus from the Flint Institute of Music. The
airport has partnered FIM to bring the sounds of Christmas to the event and help spread joy to all.
The event will take place outside at the west end of the airport between employee parking and the first entrance to the
terminal. The entire community, airport employees, tenants and their families are welcome to join the festivities.
