Michigan Income Tax Return Filing Starts January 24th

Michigan Income Tax Return Filing Starts January 24th

January 21, 2022 by GJ Staff Leave a Comment

Michigan’s income tax filing dates will coincide with the federal income tax season which runs January 24th through April 18th. Employers must send all W-2 or 1099 forms to employees by January 31st so they can compile their income tax returns.

The US Department of the Treasury advises people against using their final paycheck stub of the year to file their income taxes. Those usually do not provide a full account of how much was earned in the past year.
